In thin film photovoltaics—both CIGS and CdTe—BTU leverages its experience with large-scale, custom, in-line thermal processing systems. These systems can be well over 100 feet in length and include specialized features like coating capability and novel atmospheres. BTU’s continuous processing systems are known worldwide for their superior thermal uniformity, our thin film systems feature cross-belt uniformity as low as +/-2°C. BTU’s Thin Film Process Equipment can be designed for glass substrate processing or to be web compliant. The system design is scalable and systems are being sold for lab, pilot and production sized applications.
